Potential biodiversity index for Velhas, Paraopeba e Piracicaba watersheds based on landscape structure analyzes

The figures below are part of two reports made in 2008 and 2009. They aimed to evaluate the environmental conditionals of Velhas, Paraopeba e Piracicaba watersheds based on landscape structure analyzes. They contain indexes that described the potentials of the landscape to support high levels of biodiversity. This approach uses information about the different environments, land use types and of the physical environment, such as hydrography, pedology and geomorphology. These data support the elaboration of an ecological and sustainable development zonation for the regions. The ultimate goal of the reports was the Territorial Environmental Management based on designs developed by Vale S.A. company.
