Professor in the Zoology Department of UNESP in Rio Claro. I studied primates in Africa (Guinea), Amazon (Peru) and now in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest. My goal is to understand the role of primates in the ecosystem, especially in the regeneration of forests through seed dispersal process. I'm interested in primates-plant interactions and investigate how much and how the functions fulfilled by primates are changed in disturbed areas (secondary forests, defaunated, fragmented) through behavioral or ecological changes. Also, I want to understand the waterfalls effects of changes in the secondary dispersion processes seeds for dung beetles, predation of seeds and vegetation (seedling recruitment and population genetics).
