Sci. Meeting
LEEC-Meeting

LEEC-Meetings are intended to discuss aspects related to spatial ecology and landscape ecology focusing on biodiversity conservation. Paper discussions and presentations of scientific research take place with the participation of undergraduate and graduate students as well as researchers and professionals from other research institutions. Everybody interested in this area is welcome.
Every Tuesday from 9 to 11h30 at the auditorium of the Department of Ecology.
The meetings are transmitted online through the livestream. Access: https://livestream.com/accounts/16357909

Movement Ecology Group

The Movement Ecology Group aims at creating a common background on modeling, analysis, and fieldwork methods and a general understanding on movement of organisms, as well as on its relation with ecological processes and interactions. Also, the group focus on rinsing relevant ecological questions and creating opportunities of collaboration among participants. All the meetings are conducted by in-person/remote meetings and by e-mail, through the Google Group mov_ecology@googlegroups.com. Some information, fast communication and paper/database/congresses information may also be found in the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/movementecology.

Sound Meeting

Sound Meeting focuses on paper discussions about soundscape ecology, bioacoustics and biodiversity monitoring through sound. We are interested in advancing our ideas and concepts on these topics. We also discuss methods and new approaches related to environment acoustics involving biological, physical and anthropic components.

Functional Diversity day

Many ecological studies focus on understand how environmental and spatial patterns influences biodiversity and ecological process. At this context, an approach that has been rising up in such studies is the use of functional traits to understanding the patterns of communities. On 11 march, 2015, it was conducted, at UNESP, in Rio Claro, the II Functional Diversity day. In this workshop, undergraduates, post-graduation students, and researchers of five Brazilian Universities (UNESP, USP, ESALQ/USP, UNIFAL and UFSCar) exposed and discussed the use of this approach on their researches. The lectures showed the high level of research that have been developed by such research groups and the discussions contributed both to the improvement of developing studies as in the design of futures projects.
